Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi affirmed Iran's right to enrich uranium.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Araqchi informed UN Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres, during a phone call, of the latest developments in the indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States, and the Sultanate of Oman's preparations to plan for the next round of these negotiations.

Araqchi pointed to "the responsible approach of the Islamic Republic of Iran in choosing the diplomatic path to resolve the artificial issue related to Iran's peaceful nuclear program," and considered that moving forward on this path requires serious and realistic will from the other side. He indicated that "Iran, as a member of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and committed to its commitments, insists that the Iranian people benefit from nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, which requires enrichment."
