Cairo: Iraq’s delegate to the Arab League, Qahtan Taha Khalaf, confirmed the capital, Baghdad’s readiness to host the Arab Summit. The Arab League commended Iraq’s efforts in supporting joint Arab action and hosting the summit.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Iraqi Embassy in Cairo indicated that Iraq’s Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Qahtan Taha Khalaf, met with Ambassador Hussam Zaki, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, at the headquarters of the League’s General Secretariat. During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance cooperation and joint coordination between Iraq and the Arab League, as well as Iraq’s preparations to host the upcoming Arab Summit in Baghdad.

Khalaf affirmed Iraq’s readiness and its keenness to provide all necessary capabilities for its success, reflecting Iraq’s position and commitment to its effective national role within the Arab system.

Ambassador Hossam Zaki praised Iraq’s efforts in supporting joint Arab action, and its readiness and efforts to host the Arab Summit, stressing the importance of concerted Arab efforts at this critical stage, especially with regard to supporting the Palestinian people and strengthening the unity of the Arab position in regional and international forums.
