Gaza City: Western media reported that at least 16 people were killed and dozens injured in Israeli shelling targeting various areas of the Gaza Strip from midnight last night until this morning.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, in the central Gaza Strip, three people were killed in shelling that targeted a camp for displaced persons in the city of Deir al-Balah, causing material damage and a number of injuries. In the city of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, reports indicated that eight people, including a child, were killed as a result of shelling that hit the Al-Qudra family home in the city center. There were also reports of injured and missing people under the rubble.
Two people were also killed in another shelling that targeted a home belonging to the Abu Shab family in Al-Zana area, east of Khan Yunis. In the northern Gaza Strip, a shelling targeting a house in the Tal al-Zaatar area of Jabalia camp resulted in the deaths of three people.
Deaths and injuries were also reported in a shelling of al-Karama School in the al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City, where nine victims were reported, including dead and wounded. In the same context, media outlets in the Gaza Strip reported on Tuesday that 18 people were killed in an Israeli shelling targeting a school housing displaced persons in the al-Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip.
