Baghdad: The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, launched a scathing critique against the United States and Israel, accusing them of attempting to exert control over the world through incitement and warfare. Al-Sadr emphasized that yielding to these powers only invites divine displeasure.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Sadr expressed his views in a detailed commentary on the “X” platform. He criticized the global acceptance of what he termed the “tyranny” of U.S. Presidents Joe Biden and Donald Trump, as well as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Al-Sadr likened the international community’s reaction to these leaders to the historical companions of the trench (Ashab al-Okdod), accusing them of remaining silent while witnessing the hardships inflicted on Gaza, including the suffering of its children and women, and the erosion of dignity and livelihood.
Al-Sadr further condemned the submission of European and other nations to Trump’s economic policies, which he argued turned the world into a battlefield, likening it to a chessboard with conflicts erupting across various regions.
