Al-Araji Engages with US Charg© d’Affaires on Strategic Relations and Regional Stability


Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji received the Charg© d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Baghdad, Elizabeth Trudeau, in his office on Wednesday. The meeting concentrated on the latest regional and international developments, emphasizing efforts to consolidate peace and reduce tensions globally.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussions reflected on the Iraqi-US strategic partnership, particularly focusing on the Strategic Framework Agreement that guides the bilateral relations between the two nations. The dialogue explored potential paths to enhance this partnership further.



The meeting also touched upon the ongoing efforts by both countries concerning the Al-Hawl camp issue, highlighting the measures taken by the Iraqi government to repatriate its citizens from the camp. Al-Araji emphasized Iraq’s commitment to facilitating direct negotiations between the United States and Iran, viewing these talks as beneficial for regional and global stability. He reiterated Iraq’s dedication to strengthening ties with international partners.
