Muscat: Iranian media reported that the fourth round of talks between Iran and the United States on the Iranian nuclear program concluded in the Sultanate of Oman. A statement read, “The fourth round of indirect talks between Iran and the United States in the Sultanate of Oman ended minutes ago.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, before heading to Muscat, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi expressed hope that this round would reach a “decisive point.” The discussions are part of ongoing indirect talks facilitated by Omani mediation, which began on April 12. The two countries, which have not maintained diplomatic relations since 1980, have conducted three previous rounds, with two hosted in Muscat and one at the Omani diplomatic mission in Rome.

This fourth round took place a month after the dialogue on the Iranian nuclear issue initiated between the two sides. It followed a two-week hiatus, marking the longest break in the series of consecutive contacts organized by Muscat.
