Baghdad: The fourth round of talks with the US was more serious and detailed than previous rounds Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced that the fourth round of indirect talks between Tehran and the United States was “more serious and detailed” than previous rounds, as both sides now have a “better understanding” of each other’s positions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Araqchi stated that this round went beyond general discussions and delved into details, “which increased the difficulty of the negotiations as they progressed.”

Araqchi noted that “compared to the previous three rounds, this session was more direct and serious. We avoided generalities and focused on details, which naturally increased the difficulty of the negotiations.”

Araqchi emphasized that the talks, which also took place in Muscat, were fruitful, noting that “although the discussions were difficult and frank, they were very useful, and it can be said that both sides now have a better understanding of each other’s positions.”

The chief Iranian negotiator also confirmed that the main points of contention were discussed in greater depth, leading to a slight convergence in positions between Tehran and Washington, stressing that the two sides agreed to continue the talks.
