Minister of Education Proposes Iraqi-Chinese University for AI Studies


Baghdad: Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Naeem Al-Aboudi has called for the creation of an Iraqi-Chinese university focusing on artificial intelligence.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry reported that Al-Aboudi met with Cui Wei, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Baghdad. Their discussions centered on enhancing the scientific and educational partnership between universities in Iraq and China.



During the meeting, Al-Aboudi emphasized the need to expand joint academic cooperation. He proposed the establishment of an Iraqi-Chinese university that would specialize in artificial intelligence and advanced digital technologies. Al-Aboudi highlighted the ministry’s strategy to diversify knowledge sources and engage with leading global experiences in AI and technological innovation.



The Chinese ambassador, Cui Wei, expressed China’s interest in joint academic cooperation in education and technology. He welcomed the proposal to establish a university specializing in artificial intelligence, which he believes would enhance knowledge infrastructure and support sustainable development goals.
