Gaza: UN Humanitarian Coordinator Tom Fletcher called on the UN Security Council to take action to “prevent genocide” in Gaza, after the occupying entity announced that its army would resume operations “with full force” in the Strip. He said that the Zionist entity is “deliberately and brazenly imposing inhumane conditions” on civilians in the besieged Palestinian enclave.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Fletcher noted that “life-saving supplies” provided by UN agencies are ready for delivery at the border, but “Israel” is preventing their entry. Fletcher criticized the conditions imposed by the entity to allow the delivery of aid as a “cynical sideshow,” stressing that the Zionist plan “makes starvation a bargaining chip.”
He added, “This is deliberate dispersion. It is a cover for further violence and displacement.” He noted that the International Court of Justice is examining whether genocide is taking place in Gaza and will assess the testimony provided by humanitarian agencies, “but it will be too late.”
He said that the United Nations “brought to the Council the death, injury, destruction, starvation, disease, torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment it has witnessed, and the repeated, widespread displacement, in addition to the deliberate obstruction of relief operations and the systematic destruction of Palestinian life and its support in Gaza.”
