Baghdad: President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, announced the opening of the 34th session of the Arab League Council at the summit level. In his opening speech, the President highlighted the complex circumstances and serious challenges threatening the region, the security of countries, and the fate of peoples.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, President Rashid emphasized that the specter of war poses a threat to security and stability, hindering development efforts and future aspirations. He stressed the importance of taking the initiative and taking urgent action to enhance opportunities for Arab, regional, and international stability.

He further remarked on the unity of blood, religion, and history as commonalities that should drive action and cooperation. He urged the need to activate these commonalities and to overlook potential divisions that could hinder unity.
