Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has underlined Iraq’s commitment to continuing its collaboration with Nokia to secure the infrastructure necessary for a digital transformation project aimed at government institutions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Prime Minister’s media office reported that al-Sudani met with Anu Saarela, the Finnish Ambassador to Iraq, along with a delegation from Nokia. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in information technology and modern digital technologies. The Nokia delegation provided a comprehensive overview of their programs and plans, highlighting their services in artificial intelligence and fifth-generation communications.

Al-Sudani stated that the government has laid the groundwork for relevant legislation and has established centers aimed at the development and deployment of necessary technologies. He also highlighted Iraq’s significant initiatives in digital transformation and artificial intelligence presented during the Arab Summit.

Ambassador Saarela congratulated the Prime Minister on Iraq’s successful hosting of the Arab Summit and its increased role in the Arab and regional arena. She also commended the government’s efforts in delivering services and executing development projects. Saarela emphasized Nokia’s commitment to actively contributing to the digital transformation project through established contracts with various companies.
