Amman: The Jordanian Army thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotics loaded with drugs using a drone on Tuesday.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a responsible military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces stated that the Border Guard Forces in the Eastern Region, in coordination with the security and military agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, detected a drone attempting to cross the border illegally.

He added: “The drone was intercepted and shot down inside Jordanian territory, along with its cargo,” noting that the seized items were transferred to the relevant authorities to complete legal procedures.
