Baghdad: President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid underscored the importance of leveraging the experiences of developed countries in the establishment and expansion of universities.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Presidency of the Republic released a statement following a meeting between President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid and Dr. Michael William Mullenx, President of the American University in Baghdad, and his accompanying delegation at the Baghdad Palace. The President highlighted the significance of adopting solid scientific foundations from developed countries to enhance university education. He stressed the critical role of academic development and updated curricula in advancing the comprehensive development movement within the country.

President Rashid commended the American University’s teaching staff for their role in graduating qualified students and acknowledged the innovative teaching methods and modern curricula employed by the institution. In response, Dr. Mullenx expressed gratitude for the President’s commitment to advancing Iraq’s academic, scientific, and humanitarian sectors. He also extended an invitation to President Rashid to attend the official reception ceremony for the graduation of the first batch of students from the American University.
