Gaza: A Palestinian journalist and several members of his family were martyred in an Israeli bombing of their home in northern Gaza. The Government Media Office in Gaza announced the martyrdom of Palestinian journalist Hassan Majdi Abu Warda and several members of his family at dawn on Sunday, as a result of an Israeli airstrike that targeted his family’s home in Jabalia, north of the Gaza Strip.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the office stated that with the martyrdom of Abu Warda, the number of martyred journalists in the Gaza Strip has risen to 221 since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.
The government office added in a statement that it condemns in the strongest terms the systematic targeting, killing, and assassination of Palestinian journalists in the Gaza Strip by the Israeli occupation.
The office called on the International Federation of Journalists, the Federation of Arab Journalists, and all journalistic institutions worldwide to condemn these
systematic crimes against Palestinian journalists and media professionals in the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian media outlets mourned the death of journalist Abu Warda, who worked as director of the Barq Gaza News Agency.
