Jerusalem: Hundreds of settlers stormed Al Aqsa Mosque compound today, amid tight security measures by Israeli occupation forces. The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported that more than 900 settlers and several members of the Israeli Knesset stormed Al Aqsa Mosque and performed provocative Talmudic rituals in its courtyards. A settler raised the Israeli flag during the raid, coinciding with the deployment of iron barriers around Damascus Gate and the Old City to restrict Qudsees amidst tight military measures.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, settler incursions and harassment of worshippers have multiplied in recent days, amid calls by extremist settler groups for more incursions and greater intensity.
The provocative “Flag March” is scheduled to begin from Al Buraq Square, passing through Damascus Gate and Al Wad neighborhood within the Old City, areas densely populated with Palestinians. Since yesterday, Sunday, Israeli occupation forces have deployed iron barriers around Damascus Gate, at the entrance to the Old City of occupied Quds.
