Intelligence Detachments Arrest Drug and Human Traffickers in Baghdad and Najaf


Baghdad: Detachments from the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security arrested two drug trafficking networks and a human trafficking suspect in Baghdad and Najaf.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by the Directorate revealed that intensive intelligence efforts and a well-planned ambush led to the arrest of members from two drug trafficking and distribution networks in Baghdad. These individuals were apprehended under judicial warrants.



The statement further disclosed that the detachments also arrested a person wanted by the judiciary on charges of human trafficking in one of Baghdad’s districts.



In Najaf Governorate, the Directorate’s detachments captured a drug dealer in the act. Various narcotic substances were found in the suspect’s possession and subsequently confiscated.
