Baghdad: President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid affirmed Iraq’s intention to enhance bilateral relations with the United States in various fields. The Presidency stated that the President received Elizabeth Trudeau, the Charg© d’Affaires of the US Embassy to Iraq, at the Baghdad Palace.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the President highlighted Iraq’s commitment to strengthening ties that serve the mutual interests of both countries. He remarked on the positive developments within Iraq, including efforts to consolidate security and stability, boost the economy, and enhance investment. The President also stressed the importance of joint efforts to reduce regional tensions, resolve conflicts, and promote regional and international cooperation.

Elizabeth Trudeau, on behalf of the United States, expressed a desire to deepen bilateral cooperation on shared interests and support initiatives aimed at establishing security and stability. She commended Iraq’s regional role and its contributions to resolving tensions and crises.
