Integrity Commission Arrests Suspects for Generator Theft and Electrical Material Misappropriation in Ramadi


Ramadi: The Federal Integrity Commission has announced the arrest of three suspects involved in an attempt to steal an electric generator from the Grand State Mosque located in the Ramadi District. The operation was carried out in collaboration with the investigating judge specializing in integrity cases.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Anbar Investigation Office team, acting on judicial warrants, successfully detained the suspects as they attempted to replace a 1000kV Perkins generator with a smaller one under the guise of maintenance. The original generator was retrieved after the attempted replacement was uncovered.



In a further development, the Commission reported the arrest of an employee from the East Ramadi Electricity Distribution Department. The employee was found attempting to steal three electrical transformers and nine poles, along with various accessories. These stolen items were reportedly stored in the employee’s private residence.



The operation, conducted under Article 444/11 of the Penal Code, led to the confiscation of the stolen goods. Official seizure reports were filed and presented to the investigative court judges specializing in integrity cases. The accused individuals are currently detained pending further investigation.
