Oil Minister Urges OPEC Members to Honor Agreements for Market Stability


Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul-Ghani Al-Sawad, has underscored the significance of OPEC members adhering to their agreements to ensure stability in the global oil market.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sawad participated in a video conference for the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) meetings. During these discussions, key issues affecting member states and allied countries within the OPEC+ framework were addressed. The meetings reviewed recent developments in the global oil market, focusing on the commitment of member states to production reduction agreements and the importance of continued coordination and cooperation for market stability.



The Ministry of Oil’s statement highlighted that Al-Sawad chaired the Ministerial Meeting No. (191) of OPEC member states, where he emphasized “the importance of everyone’s commitment to the agreements and understandings reached.” Al-Sawad stressed that a unified stance and joint coordination are vital for the success of OPEC+ efforts in maintaining global oil market stability.
