Baghdad: The second session of the Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism conference kicked off in the capital, Baghdad, today, Wednesday. The event marks a significant gathering aimed at addressing critical financial compliance issues within the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the conference is organized by the Union of Arab Banks in collaboration with the Iraqi Private Banks Association. It is held under the patronage of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and operates under the theme “Challenges of Arab Banks in Complying with International Laws and Legislation and Ways to Meet the Requirements of Correspondent Banks.”

The conference saw the participation of notable figures, including the Governor of the Central Bank, Ali Al-Alaq, along with advisors to the Prime Minister, government and parliamentary officials. Additionally, a diverse group of experts and specialists from various Arab countries attended the session, highlighting the regional significance of the event.
