Riyadh: The General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers has announced the launch of the Arab Cybersecurity Strategy. The initiative aims to establish a secure and reliable Arab cyberspace to foster growth and prosperity across member states while enhancing cooperation and coordination on cybersecurity issues.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the strategy’s objectives align with the Council’s bylaws, approved by the Council of the League of Arab States. These goals include protecting the interests of member states in international cybersecurity organizations through joint coordination and presenting a unified Arab stance. The strategy also focuses on building human capacity, developing the cyber industry, and harmonizing cyber legislation among member states.

The Arab team, led by Saudi Arabia, discussed the strategic objectives during their meeting, emphasizing the importance of Arab cooperation and solidarity in cybersecurity. Representatives from cybersecurity agencies in Arab countries, the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers, and the League of Arab States participated in the discussions. The Arab Cybersecurity Ministers Council, established under the Council of the League of Arab States, includes Arab ministers responsible for cybersecurity. Its mandate involves formulating policies, strategies, and priorities for joint Arab action in cybersecurity and approving joint Arab plans to implement these strategies.
