Lebanese President Meets Patriarch Cardinal Sako in Mansour


Mansour: Patriarch Cardinal Louis Raphael Sako welcomed General Joseph Aoun, President of the Lebanese Republic, and his delegation at the Patriarchal Palace in Mansour. The meeting was seen as an expression of moral support during challenging times.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussions between the two leaders focused on regional issues and citizen concerns. They highlighted the importance of building a strong state characterized by law and sovereign citizenship, emphasizing the need to limit weapon use and eradicate corruption.



Regarding the Christian community, His Beatitude Patriarch Sako stressed the importance of unity among Christians, both ecclesiastically and popularly, to aid those wishing to return to their homelands in Iraq and Lebanon. He also noted the Church’s role in supporting impoverished families by constructing housing facilities for them.
