Diyala: A joint security detachment from the Diyala Police’s Checkpoints and External Roads Affairs Department and the Organized Crime Directorate seized a bus carrying large quantities of alcoholic beverages, which were professionally hidden for the purpose of camouflage and deception.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Brigadier General Haitham Al-Shammari, Director of Media for the Diyala Police, stated that security detachments are continuing their efforts to curb the phenomenon of smuggling illegal substances. He noted that such activities pose a threat to the Iraqi economy.

He further mentioned that the necessary legal measures have been taken against the driver, while the vehicle was impounded with the seized items at security detention centers.
