Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack on Russian military airfields. Zelenskyy stated in a video on Telegram that the head of the Ukrainian Security Service, Vasily Malyuk, led the operation. He continued: “We have been preparing for the operation for more than a year and a half.” He added that Kyiv used 117 drones for this attack.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that “the Kyiv regime launched an attack today using FPV-guided drones on airfields in the Murmansk, Irkutsk, Ivanovo, Ryazan, and Amur regions.” It confirmed that “all attacks on military airfields in the Ivanovo, Ryazan, and Amur regions were repelled.”
The statement indicated that “in the Murmansk and Irkutsk regions, a number of aircraft caught fire as a result of drones being launched from territories near airports.” It noted that “the fires were extinguished, and no injuries were recorded among military personnel or civilians. Some of those involved in these attacks were also arrested.”
