Istanbul: Several Turkish cities witnessed mass marches last night in solidarity with the Palestinian people as they confront the crimes of the Zionist enemy and its US-backed war machine. The demonstrators denounced the US policy of supporting the Zionist war machine and criticized the silence of Islamic countries regarding the genocidal crimes committed by the Israeli enemy in Gaza.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the city of Istanbul saw a solidarity march attended by thousands of Turks and Arabs residing in Turkey. The march was organized by civil society organizations and youth activists under the title “Free Gaza March” to protest the Israeli attacks against the Palestinian people. The marchers raised banners reading “Free Palestine from generation to generation until complete liberation” and “This is not a war, but a massacre of children.”

The demonstrators called on the international community to take action on behalf of Gaza, highlighting the tragedy of Palestinian children being killed by the Israeli war machine with US support, in scenes broadcast daily on television. The provinces of Konya, central Turkey, and Malatya, eastern Turkey, also witnessed protests against the genocide that Israel has been perpetrating in Gaza for the past 20 months.

In Konya, thousands demonstrated in a solidarity march that headed to Kili§arslan Square in response to a call from the Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH). The demonstrators carried torches, raised Palestinian flags, and chanted slogans against the Israeli genocide in Gaza. In Malatya, hundreds participated in a march that began from Kanalboyu Street to Karnak Square.

In a statement read on behalf of the demonstrators, Bilal Karaduman, head of the protestors, said that the international community has left Gaza to face its fate alone. He stressed that “Gaza is being killed before the eyes of the world and through live camera lenses, and the world is watching this brutality.” He added that “Gaza has been subjected to genocide for more than 600 days, the longest and most brutal genocide in modern times.” He continued: “In Gaza, not only humanity is being destroyed, but law, justice, honor, and dignity are also being destroyed.”
