Border Forces Arrest Ten Suspects with Narcotics in Basra and Maysan

Basra: Border Forces announced the arrest of ten suspects in possession of narcotic substances in Basra and Maysan. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Border Forces Command detailed their ongoing efforts to combat drug smuggling and prevent the entry of narcotics through border crossings. The Shalamcheh and Al-Shaib Customs Police detachments, part of the Customs Police Directorate under the Border Forces Command, conducted separate operations resulting in the arrest of ten travelers. Among those apprehended, six were foreigners found with substances such as crystal meth, methamphetamine, and marijuana.

The Border Forces Command’s statement indicated that proper seizure reports were prepared against the suspects. The individuals, along with the confiscated narcotics, were referred to the competent judicial authorities to initiate legal proceedings against them.
