Minsk: Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the Middle East is experiencing complete calm and declared the conflict between Israel and Iran as a concluded chapter. During the general session of the Eurasia Economic Forum, Putin stated, “Perhaps the situation in the Middle East is now calming down. The conflict between Israel and Iran, too, thank God, will be considered a thing of the past.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Putin emphasized that this new era of calm will allow the Eurasian Economic Union to enhance its relationships with Middle Eastern countries. He highlighted the recent implementation of a free trade agreement with Iran in May as a significant step forward. “This means that it will be possible to develop relations with all countries in the region,” he noted.
Minsk is set to take the chair of the Eurasian Economic Union in 2025, a union that comprises Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan. The Eurasian Economic Forum is occurring alongside the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting, taking place in Minsk from June 26 to 27. President Putin arrived in the Belarusian capital to engage in the meetings.
