Erbil: Parliament Speaker Mahmoud al-Mashhadani engaged in discussions with the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Masrour Barzani, to explore legal solutions to the ongoing employee salary crisis affecting the region. The meeting took place as part of an official visit by al-Mashhadani to Erbil.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Parliament Speaker al-Mashhadani was accompanied by the Chairman of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, Ziyad al-Janabi. The discussions covered the relationship between the central and regional governments, focusing on utilizing legal and constitutional avenues to establish stability for both parties. A significant emphasis was placed on identifying legal methods to resolve the salary crisis impacting the region’s employees.

The meeting also addressed the resumption of Parliament sessions and key legislation pending a vote. The discussions highlighted the necessity for Parliament to play a pivotal role in mediating the situation between the central and regional governments.

The session was attended by Deputy Speaker of Parliament Shakhon Abdullah and the Minister of Interior of the Kurdistan Region, Rebar Ahmed Khalid, indicating the importance of the meeting. The Speaker’s visit to Erbil includes several meetings with regional officials to further discuss these pressing issues.
