Baghdad: Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed on Sunday that the world is witnessing radical transformations and that the unipolar system is a thing of the past.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Putin said during the plenary session of the BRICS summit: “We all see that the world is undergoing radical changes, as the unipolar system of international relations that served the interests of the so-called ‘golden billion’ has become a thing of the past.”

He added that “the process of changing the global economic order continues to gain momentum.”

Putin emphasized that the BRICS group continues to strengthen its global presence, and that the group’s influence and status are growing year after year.

He continued, “BRICS countries continue to deepen their cooperation in key areas of politics and security, economics and finance, and cultural and humanitarian communications.”
