Mosul Records Four Suicides Within 48 Hours, Raising Concerns

Mosul: The city of Mosul, the capital of Nineveh Governorate, has experienced four suicides within the past 48 hours, marking a troubling trend in the local community.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a source in the Nineveh Police reported that among the recorded incidents, one involved a member of the 15th Division of the Iraqi Army. Additionally, two women attempted suicide by setting themselves on fire and are currently receiving treatment in Mosul hospitals.

The source further noted that the competent authorities have initiated investigations to uncover the motives and causes behind these incidents. Meanwhile, security and health authorities are advocating for enhanced psychological and social support systems to help reduce the frequency of such tragic occurrences.
