Cairo: The meetings of the Strategic Committee of the Council of Arab Ministers for Meteorology and Climate Affairs concluded at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo. The gathering was chaired by Salman Al-Bahadli, Director of the General Authority of Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring and Iraq's representative in the Council.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting resulted in the adoption of recommendations submitted by Iraq. These recommendations included disseminating the strategy to all Arab countries, providing an opportunity for feedback, and agreeing to hold videoconference meetings to follow up on decision-making and implementation phases according to a specific timetable. A period of two and a half months was allocated to prepare a comprehensive Arab strategy in meteorology and climate affairs.
The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States expressed its approval of the Committee Chairman's decisions and the meeting's outcomes. It reaffirmed its full support for future directions aimed at enhancing Arab cooperation in the areas of meteorology and climate.
