Baghdad: United Nations Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres warned against the militarization of artificial intelligence (AI), calling for a multilateral response based on equality and human rights.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in a speech at the BRICS summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Guterres stated that AI is significantly transforming economies and societies. He emphasized the importance of guiding this transformation wisely to minimize risks and maximize benefits for all.

The Secretary-General expressed particular concern about the potential militarization of AI, highlighting the need for peace. He asserted that AI should benefit everyone, not just a select few, and stressed that developing countries must have a significant role in global AI governance.
