Washington: The United States has initiated large-scale military exercises in the Pacific Ocean, reminiscent of Cold War-era maneuvers, with a specific focus on China.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Pentagon has commenced these significant exercises involving the US Air Force in the Indo-Pacific region. Described as “the first of its kind in a generation,” the exercises are a direct preparation for a potential conflict with China. The operation involves approximately 12,000 troops and more than 350 aircraft from the US Air and Space Forces, aimed at honing their capabilities to “fight and win” in the event of a confrontation with China.

General Kevin Schneider, commander of the U.S. Pacific Air Forces, stated the necessity for readiness in challenging conditions. Despite Washington’s military escalation, reports indicate that China remains focused on regional integration and economic development, rather than militarism. Nevertheless, the United States continues to view China as an “accelerating threat” due to its resistance to American dominance.

Part of the recent exercises included deploying B-52H strategic bombers to Guam, marking a significant increase in the U.S. military presence near China.
