Syria: Syria thanked Iraq for sending firefighting teams to help extinguish forest fires in Latakia. Syrian Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management, Raed al-Saleh, tweeted: “I extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to the sisterly state of Iraq for sending ground firefighting teams to participate in supporting efforts to extinguish forest fires in the Latakia countryside. We highly appreciate this humanitarian contribution, which reflects the deep ties between the two countries.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Civil Defense Authority announced the day before yesterday that it had sent 20 firefighting teams with their equipment to Syria to participate in efforts to extinguish forest fires on the Syrian coast.
