Baghdad: Imam and Friday prayer preacher in Najaf, Sadr al-Din al-Qabanji, has responded to reports concerning an Israeli plot to target political figures and entities in Iraq.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Qabanji addressed these concerns during a Friday prayer sermon, revealing information about an alleged Israeli plan aimed at dismantling the leadership of the Coordination Framework and establishing a National Salvation Government. He emphasized that these are not mere rumors, citing indications and leaks from high-ranking sources.

Al-Qabanji highlighted that Israel had previously attempted to destabilize Iran by targeting its leaders, which was followed by strategic retaliation that shifted the political landscape and led to missile attacks on Israel. He urged Israel to reflect on these events, asserting that similar attempts would not succeed in Iraq. Al-Qabanji expressed confidence in divine support, referencing the strong faith of the Iraqi people and their devotion to Hussein.
