Brussels: The European Council announced today the appointment of Ralf Schr¶der as the new Head of the European Union Advisory Mission in Iraq (EUAM). He will officially assume his duties on August 16.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Ralf Schr¶der is a senior German officer with 30 years of experience in the security sector, specializing in counter-terrorism. He has previously held various international positions, including missions in Afghanistan and Iraq.
