Baghdad: First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, affirmed that the rulings issued by the Federal Supreme Court are final and binding, as the court represents the highest constitutional authority in the country.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, this declaration came during Al-Mandalawi’s visit to the headquarters of the Federal Supreme Court, where he extended his congratulations to Judge Munther Ibrahim Hussein on assuming the presidency of the court. Al-Mandalawi wished Judge Hussein success in fulfilling his national duties with “integrity, impartiality, and dedication.”
Al-Mandalawi noted that Judge Hussein’s appointment reflects the confidence in his competence, integrity, and commitment to upholding the constitution. He emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between the legislative and judicial branches to promote the values of justice and the rule of law.
He also reaffirmed the Parliament’s full support for the Federal Supreme Court and praised its crucial role in safeguarding Iraq’s democratic experience, ensuring the separation of powers, and protecting rights and freedoms.
