Council of Ministers Approves Housing Measures for Citizens

Baghdad: The Council of Ministers has approved several measures aimed at facilitating housing access for citizens by converting agricultural land into residential areas. As part of these measures, the sale of plots to eligible citizens, as outlined in Cabinet Resolution 320 of 2022, will require a 10% upfront payment of the sale fee determined by estimation committees. The remaining balance will be payable in equal installments over 20 years from the sale date.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the requirement for owners to submit requests within 90 working days, as stipulated in Cabinet Resolution 23107 of 2023, will not be enforced. This step is intended to streamline the sale process, ensuring that citizens can complete transactions effectively and without unnecessary delays.
