Baghdad: Buses have started entering the city of Sweida to evacuate families detained within the southern city.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported on Tuesday about the commencement of this evacuation process.

On Monday, the Syrian Ministry of Interior facilitated the evacuation of families from Bedouin tribes detained in Sweida. This evacuation was part of an agreement aimed at allowing civilians wishing to leave the province to do so, in light of current circumstances, until their safe return home can be assured.

The Syrian Minister of Interior had earlier announced that the Internal Security Forces managed to calm the situation in Sweida as of Sunday. By deploying to the northern and western regions of the city, they succeeded in enforcing a ceasefire. This development has opened the door for a prisoner exchange and the gradual restoration of stability throughout the province.
