Beijing: China today called on the European Union to cease actions that "undermine the legitimate interests" of Chinese companies, affirming its readiness to take necessary measures to safeguard their legal rights. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Guo Jiakun, issued this statement during a press conference, emphasizing China's opposition to what it perceives as unfounded sanctions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Guo Jiakun asserted China's firm opposition to unilateral sanctions lacking international legal basis and without UN Security Council authorization. He reiterated China's stance on promoting peace talks concerning the Ukraine crisis, clarifying that China has refrained from supplying combat weapons to any party involved in the conflict, while ensuring stringent controls over the export of dual-use items.

Guo further stressed the importance of allowing normal cooperation and exchanges between Chinese and Russian companies. He warned against interference or disruption of these interactions, underscoring China's commitment to protecting the legitimate business interests of its enterprises on the international stage.
