Hillah: A colonel was stabbed by a fishmonger on Doctors' Street in central Hillah today, Tuesday.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a quarrel erupted between the colonel and the fishmonger, resulting in the fishmonger stabbing the officer before fleeing to an unknown destination.

The wounded colonel was transferred to Hillah Surgical Hospital for treatment. Police have commenced an investigation to determine the causes of the incident.
