Baghdad: Sheikh Humam Hamoudi met with Glenn Miles, the Australian Ambassador to Iraq, to discuss pressing regional issues and the internal dynamics of Iraq. During the meeting, a range of topics were covered, including the Israeli-Iranian conflict, the situation in Syria and Gaza, and their implications for Iraq, as well as the political and electoral landscape in the country.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Sheikh Hamoudi emphasized Iraq's firm stance against any external interference that could compromise its sovereignty and the dignity of its citizens. He advocated for negotiations and settlements as the preferred means of resolving conflicts. He highlighted the severe humanitarian crises in Sweida and Gaza, along with what he described as expansionist aggression by Netanyahu, as factors that reinforce the Iraqi people's belief in the importance of the Popular Mobilization Forces. These forces are seen as vital for maintaining reassurance, stability, and balance within Iraq.

Sheikh Hamoudi also referenced the 2016 Popular Mobilization Law, underscoring its alignment with the religious authority's vision of a non-political military force that enjoys popular support. He expressed concerns about efforts by unnamed parties to destabilize Iraq and disrupt its electoral processes. However, he voiced confidence in Iraq's ability to maintain its unity and effectively manage any emerging crises.
