Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani reiterated Iraq’s firm and supportive stance on the Palestinian cause. A statement by his media office stated that Al-Sudani received the Palestinian-Iraqi Ambassador to Iraq, Ahmed Al-Ruwaidi, on Monday. During the meeting, they discussed the current situation in the occupied territories and the Gaza Strip, the continued perpetration of the most heinous crimes and violations by the occupying forces against the Palestinian people in the Strip, and the dangerous humanitarian conditions there.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sudani reiterated Iraq’s firm and supportive position on the Palestinian cause and its solidarity, both government and people, with the Palestinian people, who are facing a brutal aggression that has shed their blood. This is in light of the international community’s silence and helplessness in the face of the crimes of the Zionist entity and the policy of starvation that claims the lives of dozens of innocent children, women, and civilians daily. He pointed to the ongoing efforts of the Iraqi government and its initiatives to deliver relief aid to Gaza, which the occupying forces continue to obstruct.

For his part, the Palestinian Ambassador expressed his thanks to the Iraqi government for its supportive stance toward Palestine, its condemnation of the crime of genocide, and its efforts to launch initiatives aimed at assisting the people of Gaza and halting the aggression.
