Pyongyang: Kim Yo-jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, announced on Monday that Pyongyang is not interested in any political initiatives or proposals from South Korea, firmly rejecting the idea of resuming dialogue between the two sides.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, her statement comes amid efforts by newly elected South Korean President Lee Jae-myung to revive talks aimed at easing tensions and improving inter-Korean relations, nearly 50 days after taking office.

In what marks North Korea’s first official response to the Lee administration, Kim Yo-jong described the South Korean president as no different from his predecessor, Yoon Suk-yeol, accusing him of ‘blindly obeying the alliance with the United States’ and continuing a confrontational stance toward the North.

She stressed that Pyongyang’s position toward Seoul remains unchanged, declaring that ‘dialogue is not on the table.’

Kim also criticized Seoul’s proposal to restructure the Ministry of Unification, calling it an implicit acknowledgment that the two Koreas are separate states. She went on to describe South Korea’s unification policies as ‘an obsession,’ and called for the ministry to be dissolved entirely.
