Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed that Russia and Ukraine will sit at the peace table in Turkey in the not-too-distant future. Erdogan made this announcement during a televised speech following the weekly government meeting in Ankara.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Erdogan stated, “Just as the negotiating table between Russia and Ukraine was held in Istanbul, the peace table will also be held in Turkey in the not-too-distant future, and this bloody war will end.” He emphasized Turkey’s commitment to ending the conflict, highlighting the country’s readiness to facilitate peace efforts.

Erdogan reiterated Turkey’s long-standing advocacy for peace between Russia and Ukraine since the war’s inception. He mentioned Turkey’s involvement in significant agreements like the grain agreement and the prisoner exchange between Moscow and Kyiv, underscoring Turkey’s role in promoting peace initiatives.
