Defense Ministry Asserts Full Security of Iraqi Borders with Advanced Monitoring Measures

Baghdad: The Ministry of Defense confirmed that the border is fully secured, stating: "There are a series of technical and technological measures for monitoring."

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry emphasized that the heroic security forces, in all their formations, are making great efforts to ensure that the border is fully secured. Extensive fortifications have been established along the entire border strip, complemented by a series of advanced technical and technological monitoring measures. The coordinated presence of fighters from the Ministries of Defense and Interior, along with the Popular Mobilization Forces, has formed an unprecedented defense line on the Iraqi border.

The Ministry addressed false and malicious allegations about infiltration or smuggling operations across Iraq's borders with neighboring countries. It stressed that the Iraqi border, from the Rabia sector in the north to the Iraqi-Syrian-Jordanian border in the south, is under firm control by the Border Forces of the Ministry of Interior. This control is supported by direct and field assistance from the Iraqi Army units and the Popular Mobilization Forces, as part of a strategic plan to secure the country's borders.

Furthermore, the Ministry highlighted that border crossings are under the complete supervision of relevant government agencies, managed by all branches of the state with precise procedures and continuous monitoring. It noted ongoing tours by security leaders and media outlets, including a recent tour of the Al-Qaim border crossing. During this tour, the security procedures and the high level of discipline in securing the crossing were reviewed, countering all circulating allegations.

The Ministry of Defense warned that it reserves legal rights to pursue and hold accountable anyone promoting allegations that undermine state security and the reputation of its forces. It asserted that the security forces, across all branches, will remain a steadfast barrier against any threats to Iraq's security.
