Baghdad: Parliament Speaker Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani hosted the head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar Al-Hakim, at his official office on Tuesday, with MP Ziyad Al-Janabi, head of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, also in attendance. The meeting focused on discussing the latest political developments in Iraq and the broader region, including the preparations underway for the upcoming parliamentary elections. According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Mashhadani highlighted the essential role of national forces, including the National Wisdom Movement, in establishing the state's foundations and promoting the peaceful transition of power through democratic means. He acknowledged Ammar Al-Hakim's efforts in fostering national dialogue and supporting the unity of Iraq.
Al-Hakim expressed his backing for the initiatives of the Council of Representatives, under Al-Mashhadani's leadership, to advance legislative work and oversee executive functions, thereby strengthening public trust in constitutional bodies. Both leaders concurred on the necessity of active engagement in the legislative elections, viewing them as a crucial national duty that reinforces the democratic framework. They underscored the importance of unity among all national forces to navigate the current challenges and fulfill the Iraqi people's aspirations for stability and progress.
