Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has issued a directive to hold accountable those who neglect their duties in the Maysan Governorate. During a meeting with the Governor of Maysan and several provincial council members, the Prime Minister highlighted the need for improved security and the resolution of ongoing tribal conflicts and criminal offenses, which have been attributed to inadequacies in the performance of the security services.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister stressed the necessity of accountability for individuals failing in their responsibilities. He urged a thorough review of performance and advocated for decisive measures against those undermining the governorate’s security. Al-Sudani also underscored the critical role of the local government and provincial council in ensuring security and community peace.

He encouraged collaboration between the local government and provincial council to oversee project progress and tackle existing challenges. Additionally, the Prime Minister called for a focus on community issues in daily agendas to ensure that citizens witness tangible improvements in how officials address their concerns.
