Baghdad: The Ministry of Oil confirmed on Tuesday the participation of major international energy companies in the Baghdad International Energy Forum, scheduled to be held in the capital, Baghdad, on September 6 and 7.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry stated in a statement that companies such as BP, Total Energies, Chevron, Eni, and Shell will participate in the forum with high-level delegations and executive directors. This broad participation highlights the interest of international companies in the Iraqi energy sector and the investment opportunities and strategic partnerships it offers, in addition to Iraq’s pivotal position in global oil markets.

The statement added that the forum, which will be held under the auspices of the State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO), will be attended by energy ministers and international experts. It will include specialized dialogue sessions discussing issues related to oil markets, energy security, sustainability, and the transition to renewable en
ergy.

The Ministry explained that the forum will represent an international platform to enhance cooperation and discuss the future of energy in Iraq and the region.
