Baghdad: President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, stressed the importance of working with a true national spirit, placing Iraq’s interests above all considerations. The Presidency said in a statement, “President of the Republic, Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received today, Tuesday, at the Baghdad Palace, First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mohsen al-Mandalawi.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement added, “During the meeting, the latest political developments and the progress of the Parliament’s legislative performance were discussed, with emphasis on the importance of the Council fulfilling its role in resolving pending legislation and expediting the enactment of laws that meet the needs and aspirations of citizens.”

The President of the Republic stressed the importance of working with a true national spirit, placing Iraq’s interests above all considerations, emphasizing the importance of unifying the national path as a gateway to consolidating stability and strengthening the gains achieved in the political and security fields.

For his part, Al-Mandlawi affirmed the House of Representatives’ keenness to perform its duties, pointing to the importance of cooperation between the legislative and executive authorities to meet the requirements of the current stage.
